02 — What we do

One material. Three ways in.

We start with e-paper because it’s the calmest screen there is. Buy a finished object, build your own with a kit, or have us design and make yours.

A — Products

Finished objects

FlightPortrait, aviation art on a 13.3″ color panel, is our first. The same frame becomes an art frame, photo frame, calendar or dashboard.

05 — Why us

The panel is the easy part.

Great panels exist. What’s missing is everything around them — the board, the software, the docs and someone who answers. That’s the part we do.

01

Plug-and-play driver

An ESP32 board made for these panels. Connect, power, done — no breadboard archaeology.

02

Open firmware

Readable, hackable firmware you can fork, plus sensible defaults if you’d rather not.

03

Home Assistant ready

ESPHome support and Home Assistant setup guides, so your dashboard is an afternoon, not a month.

04

Works with TRMNL

Point the board at a TRMNL-compatible server and use the plugins you already know.

05

Browser image converter

Drop in a photo, preview it dithered for your panel, send it. Nothing to install.

06

Docs & real support

Docs written by people who built the thing — and a human on the other end of the email.

08 — FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

What is e-paper, exactly?

A reflective display made of tiny charged pigment particles. Like paper, it’s lit by the room — there’s no backlight — and the image stays put with the power off. The color panels we use mix six pigments (black, white, red, yellow, blue and green) to make their palette.

How fast does it refresh?

Slowly, on purpose. A full color refresh on these large panels typically takes several seconds to tens of seconds, depending on the panel and temperature. That makes them perfect for things that change every few minutes or hours — calendars, dashboards, art — and wrong for video or animation.

How much power does it use?

E-paper only draws power while the image is changing; holding an image costs nothing. Real-world consumption depends on how often you update and how the board sleeps between updates. We’ll publish measured numbers for each kit before pre-orders open rather than guess now.

Color or mono?

Color panels show six inks with dithering — great for art, photos and color-coded dashboards. Mono panels are faster and crisper for pure text. Our kits launch with color panels; use the Color / Mono switch at the top of this page to get a feel for both.

Where will you ship?

We’ll confirm shipping regions before pre-orders open. Tell us your country in the reservation form — it directly shapes where we ship first.

When will kits ship?

Not yet, and we won’t pretend otherwise. We’re confirming supplier quotes and building first production samples. Reservations tell us which sizes to order first; reservers hear from us before anyone else.

What about refunds?

There’s nothing to refund — reserving is free and takes no payment. If we later offer an optional deposit to hold a spot, it will be fully refundable, and we’ll say so plainly before you pay anything.
